History of English medium school

In beginning 1973-74, there was only one private Educational Institute providing Educational facilities through English Medium in  U.T of Dadra & Nagar Haveli (from class KG to class VII), with the efforts of some students who could not go for further studies outside U.T of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and their eagerness to persue High school education, they approached the Department of Education who gave them a positive response and initiated the setup of Govt. High School in U.T of Dadra & Nagar Haveli in the year 1973-74. With an enrollment of 10 students in (Std VIII) the foundation of English Medium High School was setup under the Gujarati Medium Head Master  Shri D.D. Modi in the premises of Govt. High School Gujarati Medium, Zanda Chowk, Silvassa. Shri M.A. Sheikh was appointed the first teacher of English medium high school in the year 1973. In the year 1974 Shri T.S. George (Science teacher) Shri V.B. Solanki (Language Teacher) were appointed followed by Smt. L.D. Prabhu (Science Teacher) in the year 1975. The first New S.S.C batch passed out in the year 1975-76. In the year 1979-80 Science & Commerce stream was set up with an enrollment of 9 students according to our official record. Govt. Higher Secondary School (Tokarkhada) English Medium was given a separate unit at Tokarkhada, Silvassa in the year 2003-04 under the Head Master Shri T.S. George. In the year 2013-14 New building was allotted to English Medium at Tokarkhada. In the year 2015-16 Arts stream was started with an initial enrollment of 53 students. At present in the year 2022-23 the school runs with an enrollment of 3438 students from that 1959 students in Secondary School & 1479 students in Higher Secondary School.
